Sword collecting clubs across the world
There are millions of sword collecting clubs or organizations across the world. Each has its own specifics and specialties. The famous Nihonto sword of Japan, for example, has thousands of adherent clubs in the United States alone. These include the Japanese Sword Society of the United States (JSSUS), Arizona Japanese Sword Club, the Boston Token Kai, the Northern California Sword Club, Nanka Token Kai, the Colorado Token Kai, Condell Kenkyu Kai, the Florida Token Kai, the Houston Token Kai, the Japanese Sword Club of Hawaii, the New Mexico Token Kai, the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kai, the Nihon Token Hozon Kai, the Metropolitan New York Japanese Sword Club, and the Sacramento Japanese Sword Club. Outside the US, Nihonto's respected clubs are the Japanese Sword Society of Australia, the Token Society of Great Britain, and the Vancouver Japanese Sword Appreciation Society.
Yahoo! Groups has listed more than a hundred international sword collecting clubs. Among them are the Authentic Katana Club (intended for the Diato Katana aficionados and collectors it is also meant to help a newbie collector in choosing a good weapon), The World of Gilhibben Club, Ritual Blades, Shark Systems Club (for the swords and knives aficionados), Java Keris (for the collectors of the Indonesian Keris), Kitrae Fantasy Knife and Swords Club, Drizzirt's Sword Club, The Blood Groove, The Katana and NodachiClub, Blade Masters Society (an organization for the medieval themed weapons and swords), The Cutting Edge Cutlery Company (the largest manufacturer of knives, swords, and armors in Canada), Custom Swords Club, Trader Tish Club (designed for the Trader Tish swords), The Cutting Swords Club, Japanese Sword Club, Japanese Sword Preservation Club (designed for the members of the Nihon Token Hozon Kai), Ezarcs Armory, Sword and Knife Collectors Anon, Military Swords Club, Southern Blade Smiths' Club, Kris Collectors Club, The Swords Rock Club (offers different kinds of swords including the Final Fantasy sword, Scottish swords, Japanese Samurai swords, and English swords), The Razors Edge Club, Swords and Daggers Club, Devil's Blade Club, ALCS - American League of Competitive Swordsmen Lord Council, and the Andrew Allen Arts, Knives & Swords Club. The Northern California Japanese Sword Club (NCJSC), which was established in the 1960s, is a non-profit society specially designed for the maintenance of Japanese swords, samurai blades, sword fixtures, and armors; including its related items and arts. Its headquarters is based in San Francisco, California, Bay Area. In June 1976, NCJSC was incorporated as a nonprofit educational organization. The NCJSC proudly hosts the yearly San Francisco To-Ken Kai Japanese Sword Show. The To-Ron is the organization's monthly newsletter. Some of its released publications include the Nihonto Newsletter, Kinko Meikan Translation, NTHK Novice Course, Tsuba - An Aesthetic Study, Chronological Table of Koto Smiths, Genealogy of Satsuma Smiths, NCJSC Token Taikai '76 Lectures, Imperial Japanese Daggers - 1883 to 1845, and the Imperial Japanese Daggers - 1883 to 1845. The Northern California Japanese Sword Club's current set of officers are Ralph Bell (President), Fred Weissberg (Corresponding Secretary), Duane Hanson (Treasurer), and Bob McCoy (Program Director). Its Board Members are Bill Browning, Tom Helm, and Sean Sweeny.
